MY SERVICES

Available Monday to Friday from 9am to 4pm.  Other times by prior arrangement.

I am proud to assist clients ranging from young to old with a variety of home help and social care services.

I do not provide personal care.

I understand that every client and every case is different.

That is why you can create a tailored and flexible service that suits you.

If you or on behalf of your family member, neighbour or friend feels that I can help, please contact me.

My appointments are flexible in length, anything from 2 to 7 hours, and flexible in frequency depending on your needs.  I offer one-off, short-term or ongoing arrangements, allowing the older adult and myself

to build a strong friendship and give families and friends peace of mind.

I invite you to explore the various ways I can support you and your needs or those of your loved ones.

ACTIVITY VISITS

Purposeful and meaningful cognitive activities you enjoy

Mental stimulation is essential for good health, particularly for older adults.  I would love a chat, a game of cards, a crossword, a jigsaw puzzle or your favourite board game and I can make a perfect cuppa.

COMPANIONSHIP

A friendly person who puts you at the centre of everything

Whether it’s a sympathetic ear, a bit of IT help, a stroll around the garden or great conversation with a cuppa, I will ensure that elderly people in my community feel supported and cared for.

GARDENING SERVICES

Enjoying your garden from

inside and outside

Enjoy your garden without the hard work.  Whether that is grass cutting, general garden maintenance and tidying, clearing paths and driveways, weeding, pruning and leaf collection, I can do these for you.

HOME HELP AND SOCIAL CARE/SUPPORT

Helping you maintain your independence in your own home

I can either prepare meals or do light cooking.  I can deal with administration paperwork.  You decide what you want help with.

LAUNDRY

Everything from freshly laundered bed linen to tea towels

I can change sheets, wash, iron and put everything away, all with a smile and friendly conversation.

LIGHT CLEANING

Helping you with cleaning tasks around your home

Whether you're looking for a regular weekly or fortnightly cleaning visit,
or just a one-off declutter and spring clean.  I will have your house
sparkling and fresh in no time.

ORGANISE SHOPPING

Getting in life's essentials

This is ideal for older adults who find themselves less able to go to the shops.  For example, while receiving treatment, recovering from an injury or caring for another family member.  I can collect your grocery shopping and medication and then unpack it safely in your kitchen.  Or help you to set up online shopping and have it delivered whilst I am with you.

TRANSPORT AND TRIPS

Navigating to and from places

you want or need to be

Accompanying you to attend appointments; I can collect you, take you to there, wait with you and return you home afterwards.  Or perhaps take you to your favourite social group/event, your favourite beauty spot, we can pop to the local garden centre for a browse, or go to the theatre or cinema.  Where do you fancy going?

WELFARE AND REASSURANCE CHECKS

Supporting you to stay independent in the comfort of your own home

I can visit you or your loved ones to keep them company, help around the house and generally ensure that all is well.  This reassuring service is popular with families who live far away from their elderly relatives.  It can also be used when regular family, friends or helpers need a break or a holiday.

COMBINATION OF

MY SERVICES OR NEED SOMETHING ELSE?

Helping you to maintain your independence at home

Do you wish for a combination of the services I provide?  Or is there something else not detailed here that you would like to have some help with?  I am sure all this is possible so let's have a chat about it.  I am passionate about making a help and care solution that is created and run by you.

Paula Taylor's Home Help

ABOUT ME

A caring service with a BIG smile.

As a dedicated Home Help, I am devoted to making life easier in and around your home.  Founded in 2020, I offer home help services for all, providing a personalised and flexible service in Poole and the surrounding areas.  I do my best to provide affordable solutions and take care to respect your privacy and preferences.

I am blessed to live in the village of Lytchett Matravers, just on the outskirts of Poole with my husband and two teenage children.  I love being in the countryside and the tranquillity that comes with it.  I love having nature around me, especially the variety of birds visiting my haven of a garden.  I grew up in Bear Wood, Poole.

Prior to being a Home Help from 2020, I spent my career working locally in finance and accounting mainly in solicitors and accountancy practices, a few schools, a care home and some other industries in both assistant and managerial roles.  More details about this can be found on my LinkedIn profile.  I decided to become a helper in the aftermath of the global Covid-19 pandemic.  I saw that there was a real need for help with everyday chores and help to support people to stay independent in their own homes.  This also frees up some time for them to spend doing what they really enjoy.

I recognised that in order to maintain their independence at home, many older people just need some help with the daily tasks that they may find challenging or tiresome such as cleaning, laundry and gardening.  I understand that many adults live too far from their parents or lead busy lives, which makes it difficult for them to provide regular support.  I also understand that the older adult wants to spend quality time with their children, rather than asking them to do chores

in the precious time they do get.

Although my services are inclined towards the older generation, I also provide the same services to new parents and working professionals that may want some help with the chores so they can spend their time, when they are not working, on more enjoyable pursuits.

I provide a friendly service with a BIG smile, positivity, compassion, kindness, care and helpfulness.  Throughout my life I have been engaged in my local community through

volunteering roles such as treasurer, committee member and helper,

with The Scout Association and Parish Council to name just a couple.

I have pursued many hobbies over the years including knitting, car maintenance, aromatherapy, natural remedies, gardening, reading, cross stitch, home decorating, walking, singing, meditation, Reiki, seeing productions at both the theatre (especially musicals) and amateur dramatic societies, driving, cycling both on road and off road, researching and planning adventures, trips and holidays.  I have been fortunate to have visited many foreign locations including Thailand, Sri Lanka, Canada, America and many parts of Europe.  I have been fortunate to have had many experiences so I can share the wonder and joy of the world and life with you or your loved one.  I am sure we will both have a lot in common with each other.

Weekly Facebook Posts
Above the Clouds

In the past I had, on a weekly basis, posted a Facebook business posts providing a detailed written insight to what I had been doing for and with my clients in the past week.  These posts may also have included some illustrations or visual content, overall supplying my readers with a more informed view of a week in the life of a dedicated Home Help.

I stopped making these insightful weekly posts in April 2022 as I didn't want them to feel repetitive, but have left them on Facebook and the link to some of them here for reference purposes.
